Caught The Social Network yest and I guess the concept is rather true.

"You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies."

There's bound to be someone that hates your guts. But...

In the movie, it seems like Mark Zuckerberg had no true friends AT ALL. It's all quite sad.

He looks quite nerdy and nice rite?

But in the movie, he's portrayed as a shrewd, cunning lil geek. What really annoys me is why does he speak so god damn fast in the movie??? I hardly catch anything he says most of the time. Anyway, so if the movie is close enough to reality. I guess his looks are rather deceiving. I mean, look at that harmless-looking boy?? So in the end he's all alone and a billionaire. Which brings to mind the question.

Would you rather be rich (like made of money rich) or have lots of friends (or at least some true friends)?

I think it's really not a choice if you are like Mark Zuckerberg. He might not be evil or mean in nature. But if he isn't, everyone is gonna eat him ALIVE. Yes, we live in a cruel cruel world and if you don't look out for yourself, you'll end up like his poor friend Eduardo Saverin. Totally slaughtered in the real world! Lesson: Do not trust anyone in business. Even your best friend. Esp if said best friend is ambitious and might stab you in the back unknowingly in his/her quest for success.

To end on a light-hearted note,

Brenda Song is all grown up and looks way better den when she was in Nickelodeon's Suite Life of Zac and Cody. Pretty:)

Out of all my perfumes. This is my ultimate favorite!

Saturday, September 25, 2010

It's time for new beginnings. Fresh start to a new school year.

Fresh starts always spur me to do things that I have procrastinated for a long time. Something about fresh starts that make you want to DO SOMETHING. Haha.

It's the end of the first week of school and I have done a number of things that I have put off for months. Number one is registering for my god damn BTT. YES I KNOW. I am horrible. I was suppose to do this a few years back but I was so lazy. I seriously do not like driving at all. I haven't learned yet but I know I don't. Haha. But for the sake of my future, I will learn it. The driving school is only a $4 cab ride away:)

It's also a fresh new flow of all new television shows! Usually I don't download all of them even if I want to watch them. But I have been diligently following my TV schedule. Haha. Yes I have a TV schedule! Actually I have schedules for everything now. I'm very organisational and hate it when I am not. BUT, I have a very bad habit of not writing important dates down in my schedule so sometimes I forget events. Which annoys me. But it's my own fault. Haha. Anyhow, now I have a constant stream of shows to watch all the time coz there's just too many!

Currently in love with Maggie Q in Nikita!

How hot is she??????

Apparently the poster was too provocative or something along those lines so they can't show it on TV. RIDICULOUS I SAY!

Alright, back to my fresh starts. I decided to go back to my Muay Thai classes after a LONG break. Really long. It's great exercise so I'm really glad to be back in my gym with familiar faces! Most of the people in my class are still there:) But I'm in so much pain after my first class yesterday after 5 months. It's horrible, it hurts when I breathe. Icing myself as I type now. Haha.

Not working has given me more time to pursue my interests. And do all the things that I put off/sacrifice for work. Although now I would not be able to afford some of the luxuries I enjoyed when I was working. But I'm quite content now spending lots more time at home. I have to learn to not spend my money so frivolously anyway. The thing about have extra cash is, it always seems there to be spent so I never really saved much of it. I spent almost everything I earned.

Pretty sure I started on some other stuff as well but I think they are not very relevant. Haha. Alrighty! Gonna continue reading up for school tmr. School's a killer! Everything is getting so hard.

2 more weeks still school begins so I' m gonna enjoy the next 2 weeks not doing anything mentally strenuous. And prepare my brain for my last year in university before I join the "working class". Makes me shudder just thinking abt it. I love the combination of school and work. Not loving the combination of work. And more work. BORING.

It makes me quite sad thinking abt having to go to a 9-5 job everyday for possibly the rest of my freaking life. But let's hope that after I work for let's say 5 years or so I have gathered enough money as well as inspiration to do something I love as a career:) I am one of those ppl that never really gave much thought abt the future. The furthest I usually go is prob a year. But since I'm all grown up now. I suppose I need to think of the future in like 10 years. Which sounds horrifically far away to me.

I mean ppl always say they know what they want in future. Like they wanna be a hotshot lawyer. Or they wanna have a stable of kids. Or they wanna give back to society. But when exactly does that happen? It all seems so far away. Don't get me wrong I wanna be successful with a happy family too. I want it to happen. But I guess you just know when it's coming.

For now, I just enjoy being the carefree person I am. With no real-world worries yet. And being the child of the family instead of being a mother. Omg being a mother sounds positively frightening. I hope I dun suddenly go nuts and want kids like when I'm still in my early 20s.

Bintan now feels like a long time ago and I am desperate to go on another trip before school starts. But for now, I'm stuck working again. But it's a good thing right? Time converted to money is so much more precious.

Caught The Expendables a few days ago. For a movie so testosterone laden, it is rather good despite all the big bangs. I love action movies with a touch of humour in it. If not it's just abt men and their big explosions.

Especially love Jason Statham!

There's something abt big, bald, rough-looking guys.

This weekend I decided to be totally domesticated. Bought groceries. And make rice krispy bars:) I think the chocolate I use is not sweet enough. But overall. It turned out quite well. Haha. But washing the pot after melting all the marshmallows is seriously hard work! I chipped a nail with a ll the vigorous scrubbing. Haha.

Have a nice week ahead all:)

BINTAN TRIP

Went for a short holiday with Feroz after I stopped working. Was damn last minute I booked everything only a week before. Haha. But it was fantastic! So happy:) Also concluded that if we travel I have to be the one that fills in all the damn forms. Blah. And I forgot the bring a pen. FAIL! Had to buy a pen at the ferry terminal. Haha. It shall be my travelling pen from now onwards.

Favourite photo of us!

This must be my best VS buy ever. Super useful huge travelling bag. It can fit more stuff den my puny luggage. With matching small bag somemore. Haha. But I look so bimbotic carrying matching bags. BUT the bags are really good ok.

Waiting to check in. Already sweating alot coz it's so sunny there.

I positively love my hair in this photo.

Hello there. I was bored to death waiting.

Feroz brought cheeseballs in a ziplock for me:)

Our rather large hotel room. It is rather large for the smallest room rite? Haha.

Totally redundant space that became very useful to put dirty clothes/shoes. Haha.

We are super happy we finally have air conditioning. And Feroz is not grumpy anymore coz he feels "homeless".

Went to ride the ATVs!

Had an accident but now I can't find the pictures of our ATV that fell into the ditch off the bridge. Our rides were for an hour but I think it ended up becoming 2 hrs. Replacement ATV broke down as well. I was attacked by insects.

We look stupid with our red helmets. Haha. I think I look more stupid coz the helmet is bigger den my head. It's like a mushroom is growing out of me.

Rode behind Feroz coz I'm afraid of driving all things with an engine. Haha. But in the end I drove for awhile back anyway. I'm not a very good driver at all. I have no sense of speed. I just press the accelerator and freak out at how fast I'm going. Haha.

Yay we are on our way to go up a very steep slope that was very hard to get up.

Feroz manoeuvring his way up. Can't even see me behind him. Haha. I'm being completely covered by him.
We have reached the top and my helmet is slanted from all the bumpy riding. Decided to wear shades coz all the sand kept flying into my eyes. When I was driving my own ATV I got whipped by all the twigs and it was damn painful.

Climbing ard some rocks on a cliff-like thing to get a good view. It was super high up k.

This picture looks like we are just beside the sea but we are actually way above it. I really think that all the grass and colour of the rocks makes me feel like I'm in Jurassic Park. Haha.

Surrounded by grass as high as me. I din think abt it den but dun snakes reside in places with high grass? Haha. Shivers.

Shrub that was appropriately situated behind us. Haha.

We were prob talking to the guide at this point. But he speaks Malay so most of the I dunno what he's saying. Haha. But he's such a nice guy. The Jurassic Park place is like a bonus. He even wanted to bring us to the kampong. Haha. But it's real far away and muddy so we din go.

I can't get over how stupid I look with the helmet. Haha.

Lovely waters. I think there's some coral there so you can snorkel to see the fishes but we didn't go there.

I'm fascinated by this portable deck chair thing at the beach with I have never seen before. It's like a box den you prop it up and it becomes a chair. So smart!

Sunny morning at the beach and we are getting ready to head out to sea.

We are gonna snorkel in that water. NICE. Always liked snorkeling coz it's relaxing and the waters are cleaner coz it's far away from the beach.

On a small yellow boat. My life jacket looks very small compared to Feroz's. Haha.

Our nice secluded deck when we upgraded to the suite. More abt the suite laters. But you can see a small part of the pool from here. Totally forgot to take a picture of the really large pool there. It was so big and the best part is you can find a quiet spot and just soak there. Heaven!

Lying out at the deck with magazine and loads of tanning oil. I like the shine:) But I prob sat there for like less den half an hour and den decided to get back inside.

Photos of the suite! Upgraded to a suite on the second night:) The first night wasn't available. Blah. The upgrade is totally worth it. You get much better stuff too like fluffy robes. Lots of toiletries and towels.

My favourite. Super comfy satin slippers that came in his and hers! You dun get satin slippers in the normal deluxe rooms.

The beautiful wooden door that welcomed us. I'm very tanned here.

The gigantic living room! Didn't spend much time here but the space was nice. Haha.

The closet which had a dressing table in it as well. The door beside it leads you out of the suite but it can't open. It's like a fake door. Haha.

I love the four-poster bed! I wish I have a four-poster bed at home too. But I think you need a really high ceiling. And alot of space as well. Ain't it pretty?

Our own deck which came in useful when we didn't wan to walk all the way to the beach or pool to bask under the sun.

The really huge bathroom which looks out to the deck:)

Feature of the bathroom. Jacuzzi bath tub! It is so great to have that! After a whole day of activities you can soak your tired body in the green tea scented water which jets of water hitting your body. AWESOME!

Rolled down the blinds so that the neighbours dun peep at you. Haha.

Had dinner at the same Italian restaurant both nights. It was good plus it was at the resort and we were too lazy to go anywhere else to eat by the time it was dark. Haha.

Going out for dinner:)

I think this is a very good Indian boy photo. Haha.

Picking what to eat. Too hungry and lazy to take photos of our food when it came. But they serve such huge portions there. It's funny coz we didn't eat Indonesian food there at all. The most Indonesian we ever got was mee goreng at breakfast. Haha.

Time to leave. All packed and ready to check out. I'm gonna say this again. My VS travelling bag looks so awesome. Haha.

It was a great holiday and I can't wait to go on another one again! Becoming totally obsessed with finding another place to go.
